Coming to New Zealand as an immigrant pākehā and studying to become a kaiako, I was so pleasantly surprised to learn that New Zealand in 1993 came to an agreement that the ‘United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child’ would be accepted throughout Aotearoa.This is something which my country, the United States of America, has not done itself.
