ECE Qualified Kaiako

These positions are based in Wellington and this is an opportunity for you to join our team of 50 teachers who work in four home-like, nature-based, respectful and creative spaces. Childspace values respectful relationships with tamariki, whanau and colleagues; key teaching and a continuity of care approach are the foundations for teaching and learning at all of our centres.

We are proud that we have 20% male kaiako at Childspace and we encourage and support male involvement in ECE. Opportunities for professional development and career advancement within our community of learners are plentiful. Relief Kai Creator (Cook)

We are looking for a regular relief kai creator (cook) to prepare delicious meals for children (3 months – five years old) across our early learning centres in Wellington. 

You will be well supported in your role by the teaching team at our centres and the team of five other kai creators within our organisation. We use a seasonal rotational menu to prepare fresh daily morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea within the Ministry of Health guidelines. Kitchen management, confidence budgeting and ordering groceries online is important, with a recognised food safety qualification also preferred. If no current food safety certificate, we will provide training for this. We will also provide training for a first aid certificate.
